Tupac hologram at the Coachella music festival
Believe it or not, it is called Hologram, and Tupac died on September 1996, this video is 2012.
The reception to a life-like hologram of Tupac Shakur taking the stage last weekend has been surprisingly mixed, including a reaction from the late hip-hop star’s mother.
Initially, fans were shocked, then amazed, as rapper Snoop Dogg and producer Dr. Dre pulled off the ultimate hip-hop coup d’tat to legions of fans at the Coachella music festival in the California desert.
It was as if the endless theories surrounding Tupac’s 1996 death, that he faked his own murder, had come to light in the form of the rapper’s hologram. The 25-year-old iconic singer was back on the stage in an unprecedented live performance, 15 years after that fateful September night when he was gunned down just off of the Las Vegas Strip. [The Forbes]
Holography is a technique that allows the light scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed so that when an imaging system (a camera or an eye) is placed in the reconstructed beam, an image of the object will be seen even when the object is no longer present. The image changes as the position and orientation of the viewing system changes in exactly the same way as if the object were still present, thus making the image appear three-dimensional.
